Description
Viaggiando s'impara
This collection is about some of the author’s experiences in different times and places, filtered by the fantasy of introspection. The title describes the center of the experiences narrated, which also is the link between the different stories. Maybe magister viaticus would have been more efficient, but it would have been an adventurous presumption…
The binomial chosen for the title, Viaggiando s’impara, is a compromise, a calque of the idiom “Sbagliando s’impara”, and as Mark Twain said: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.” (The Innocents Abroad, 1869). The author totally agrees with Twain’s statement, and used it in the subtitle.
