CINEMA E DIVERSITÀ
DISABILITY STUDIES, SENSORIALITÀ E PROSPETTIVE DI RICERCA INTEGRATA

The volume "Cinema e Diversità: Disability Studies, Sensorialità e Prospettive di Ricerca Integrata" presents a collection of essays that explore the complexities of disability representations in cinema and visual arts. It constitutes an innovative contribution to the academic landscape. Drawing on the theories of disability studies, the essays in this collection examine how cinematic and television narratives have shaped and continue to influence public and societal perceptions of corporeal and sensory diversity. These essays aim to deconstruct stereotypical paradigms and open up new critical and intersectional perspectives.

Through a multidisciplinary approach, the contributors provide an in-depth analysis of the cultural dynamics, narrative models, and discursive practices surrounding disability, fostering an inclusive and thoughtful dialogue. The volume goes beyond documentation, inviting readers to critically engage with representations of non-normative bodies while emphasising the social, ethical, and political implications of such portrayals.

This collection represents a space for discussion and exchange, broadening horizons regarding the transformative power of cinematic representation. By offering an interdisciplinary perspective, "Cinema e Diversità" seeks to inspire profound reflections and encourage readers to approach disability issues with a renewed and critical sensibility. In doing so, the volume aims to enhance awareness of these themes while contributing to a dialogue that celebrates the complexity of human experiences.
