La medicina dell’anima: prosa e poesia per il racconto della malattia

The book goes through italian literature, from Renaissance to contemporaneity, inquiring ways, times and places of intersection between medical science and literature. From scenes to poems, from treatises to storytelling, italian literature told a lot about sickness, using medical science as a sister-art. Literary criticism has only recently started to focus on new research fields that narrative medicine and biopoetics had already found. This book points to an encroachment and is an invitation to cross the “limen” , focusing on authors and texts which told about sickness, to cure it, to uderstand it, to get rid of it or just to keep it far.
