Paolo Loffredo, sixth generation of a large family of publishers and booksellers engaged in the production and distribution of books since the late nineteenth century, creates in 2012 the new editorial company Paolo Loffredo Editore. The historical site was until the '80s in the heart of the historic centre of Naples in Via San Biagio dei Librai, lower Decumano and also known as the SpaccaNapoli.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Giuseppe Loffredo decided to add book selling to the book production, which definitively imposed itself after World War II with the publication of manuals for the University and for the School that succeeded in establishing themselves soon throughout Italy.

Description
I MAESTRI DI CRITICA LETTERARIA 1973-2022
The volume collects the proceedings of the series of seminars I Maestri di «Critica Literaria», held in Naples, in May 2022, to celebrate the fifty years of the magazine founded by Pompeo Giannantonio, in 1973, within the Federico II, and printed, since its birth, by the Neapolitan publisher Loffredo.
Scholars from Italian and foreign universities have reconstructed the profile of the Masters who, since the foundation of the magazine, have animated the historical-critical debate in the columns of «Critica Letteraria»: Giannantonio, Pasquazi, Petrocchi, Battistini, Di Benedetto, Bàrberi Squarotti, Baldelli , Vallone, Sipala, Villa, Valli, Luti, Scrivano, Padoan, Petrucciani, Mariani. The lesson of the Masters, through the reconstruction and reflection of young and old scholars, who were not their students, lives again in the pages of this volume, which shows the crucial role of journals for the future of research.
