Paolo Loffredo, sixth generation of a large family of publishers and booksellers engaged in the production and distribution of books since the late nineteenth century, creates in 2012 the new editorial company Paolo Loffredo Editore. The historical site was until the '80s in the heart of the historic centre of Naples in Via San Biagio dei Librai, lower Decumano and also known as the SpaccaNapoli.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Giuseppe Loffredo decided to add book selling to the book production, which definitively imposed itself after World War II with the publication of manuals for the University and for the School that succeeded in establishing themselves soon throughout Italy.

Gloria e virtù: Dante, Leopardi, gli altri
While Dante Alighieri is considered to be the supreme synthesis of medieval age and of the main currents of the religious and courtly poetry, Giacomo Leopardi is in the middle of a modern and contemporary constellation, writing both poetry and prose, creating new knowledge as in the Zibaldone and other essays.
Starting from these two big classics, the study is about the themes of glory and virtue, focussing on Foscolo, Schopenhauer and Nievo as well, creating a significant portrait of the XIX Century.
This book is for everyone, but especially for those who consider chasing success ad the ultimate e only aim in their life, not focussing on its fascinating mysteries, on its never ending resources, on the big and small treasures of everyday, on the pleasure of love, friendship, generosity, the sweet idleness (a present given by the Gods), doing things only for pleasure and not ghinking about their usefulness.
