The main purpose of the "Studi Latini" series is not only to examinate the individual problems of literature and art, language and metrics, of linguistic instrumentation of poetics and compositional-structural technique, but also to comment and explain texts that are not easy to read. Ancient civilization, in this age that marks the triumph of the 'machine', has lost nothing of its vital and ideal importance: it opens up modern man to a vision of reality, which remains under every aspect "valid", if reduced in its right point of attack.
The Necklace wants to be, in an era like ours, a crisis towards certain studies and certain addresses, an affirmation of faith in the essential value of high teaching that the Roman Greek world, in all its manifestations, can not miss give to those who are thirsty for truth and beauty.
