Il sogno americano
The series was created to accommodate the written testimonies of the great Italian, but above all southern, emigration, which occurred between the end of the nineteenth century and the mid-twentieth century. In this way, other small pieces are brought to the construction of the great painful mosaic whose protagonists, not always victorious, were Italians eager to challenge the ocean, to confront other social and political realities, to courageously undertake new paths in peoples who they spoke a different language to achieve the American dream.
The series favors the publication of written and photographic documents to give living testimony to the phenomenon of emigration which, yesterday as today, continues to rage in the consciousness of men.
