Vita di Costanza d’Avalos
Principessa di Francavilla per volere di Carlo V

The project proposed to the Costanza d’Avalos Primary School of the Filippo Masci Comprehensive Institute in Francavilla al Mare was born from the need to transfer to the students the knowledge about the character who gave the name to the school they attend, but in a way appropriate to their age and level of education. The goal is also to spread this elementary and playful knowledge to a wide range of schools in Abruzzo, hypothesizing to involve in the project in the future also the schools of Ischia, a city twinned with Francavilla.
The comic is the chosen tool for the dissemination of a fascinating life that established connections with the most important Italian and Spanish dynasties of the early Renaissance and that affirmed the ability of educated women to govern and produce Culture.
The strategic and literary relationships that Costanza had with the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V make her a character worthy of deeper knowledge, which can be encouraged by this comic book editorial proposal, enriched by the knowledge of art developed around the characters of history with specific web references to the museums that collect the artistic works from which the children's drawings are taken. In the twentieth anniversary of the association and after 10 years of research on Costanza d'Avalos, for Le Franche Villanesi the involvement of the very young generations constitutes a true passing of the baton to continue to create in minors a proud sense of belonging to Francavilla, a princely fief city, which was awarded the title starting from Costanza, by will of Charles V, in 1528 and until the abolition of feudalism decreed by Napoleon Bonaparte in the first decade of the 1800s.
