This is the publication of the Proceedings of the Day of Virgil Studies connected to the XXI Certamen Vergilianum of the Liceo "G.B. Vico ”of Nocera Inferiore. Leaving behind the first twenty years of life, the double manifestation, that Prof. Luciano Nicastri wanted to be named after Virgil, from now beginning, despite the continuity with the past, of a new path, which hopefully can be just as long and profitable.
For the perfect success of the Certamen we must thank the Headmaster, Prof.ssa Teresa De Caprio, the inspector Prof. Michele Fasolino and Prof. Maurizio Grimaldi.
For the Study Day, heartfelt thanks go to the university colleagues, who animated a very stimulating and articulated morning in three reports, of which the texts are published here: M. Gioseffi, Virgilio and the Arcadia; F. Stok, The End of the Aeneid; L. Ricottilli, Signs of the relational conflict in Virgil and Ibsen. The audience present, made up of students high school and university students, doctoral students and university professors, has greatly appreciated.
From this year, the publication of the "Acts", as long desired, is endowed with a Scientific Committee, whose composition can be read in the present file, and of an official editorial staff, formed by profs. Maurizio Grimaldi, Nicola Lanzarone and Valentino D’Urso. A special thanks from the management goes to these.
